special holiday programme: ALL ABOUT SHARKS.
The mysterious ocean and its marine life always fascinate children of all ages. Come meet the sleekest and most terrifying swimmers alive today. Yet, sharks are listed as ‘vulnerable’ on the endangered species list. While they are always portrayed as man-eating predators, we want to discover the real facts about sharks. Let our little shark-lovers embark on their journey and sink their teeth into the incredible world of sharks.

What
are the skills children will acquire in
the unit study of ALL ABOUT SHARKS?
Children will have fun learning about sharks and putting together a lapbook and various activity sheets. The lapbook includes informative pictures and cut-outs which portray the amazing facts about sharks: types of sharks, diet, habitat, anatomy and many others. Hands-on activities include classification of sharks and not sharks, sorting of different types of sharks with shark figurines, parts of a shark anatomy cards, art and crafts etc.

Lapbook enhance
numerous basic skills:
Comprehension: As children explore totally new information and expanding on
their pre-existing knowledge, they get to practise reading and listening comprehension skills.
Using tools: Children will have to deal with some tools like scissor, glue
scale and many more. They might need some help but it will be good practice for
their fine-motor skills.
Imagination: Children will become more creative as they colour, paste, adjust, decorate and
assemble many pieces of information and work on their Lapbook and craft
projects.
Handwriting: They get to practise their writing skills working on the writing
prompts and writing on the cut-outs.
Memory: Such activities help them to remember basic or crucial
information about subject and continuous practice of it boots their memory
power.

Lapbook helps
children to review and revise the useful information about the subject or topic
they have gone through. They will be encouraged to go deeper in this hands-on
activity.

can see their progress and the level of their learning.
